Result of Service
Support and training to users: Response to user needs and questions regarding network access. Installation of commercial and in-house developed software and related upgrades, and anti-virus programs on a timely basis. Provision of ICT support to key events. Participation in the organization of training for the CO staff on ICT issues. Managing hardware and office equipment: Ensure compliance with corporate information management and technology standards, guidelines, and procedures for the CO technology environment. Effective functioning (installation, operation, and maintenance) of all UNODC hardware equipment and acquisition of hardware supplies. Performance of specific technical functions, including changing of hardware of electronic components (disks, memories, network wiring, power sources, etc.) and routine repairs. Inventory and documentation: Maintenance of an up-to-date inventory of the software and hardware. Maintenance of a library of ICT-related reference materials. Maintenance of the inventory and stock of supplies and spare parts in cooperation with the Asset Management Teams. Network administration and monitoring: Monitoring the network connection daily to ensure a stable and responsive network environment. Troubleshooting and monitoring of network problems. Ensure that the UNODC computers and network resources are protected from malicious virus attacks and deploy countermeasures in the event of the attacks

Duties and Responsibilities

Qualifications/special skills
A high school diploma is required. ITIL, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Office, Networking, Cisco and other relevant certifications is desirable. • At least 1 year of professional experience providing first line user support (in person and remotely), installing and maintaining desktops, laptops, printers and standard office applications, and performing daily network monitoring with basic tools and device dashboards is required. • Experience includes troubleshooting connectivity issues, applying security updates and anti virus, maintaining ICT assets and license inventories, and providing ICT setup and support for meetings, workshops and trainings is required. • Prior exposure to UN procedures or other international organizations, as well as participation in basic ICT awareness or user training activities, considered strong added value is desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in English, i.e. oral and written proficiency, is required. Knowledge of another United Nations official language is an advantage.
