Mechanic I

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable Nigerian nationals for the position below at the Institute’s Headquarters in Ibadan.

Position:        Mechanic I

Contract:       3-years renewable contract                                            

Location: Ibadan

Closing Date: 29 July, 2026.

DUTIES: 

• Carry out electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting on vehicles.
• Carry out auto electrical and mechanical maintenance and repair.
• Carry out recovery of vehicle(s) at the stipulated location.
• Carry out cleaning of workshop floor and equipment respectively.
• Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements

QUALIFICATION:

O’ Level with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience or Trade Test III with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience performing a similar role in a well-structured environment. Possession of any other recognized automotive technical certification will be an added advantage.

COMPETENCIES:

The ideal candidate must have:

• Proficiency in automotive technology repairs, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently under minimal supervision while demonstrating a willingness to learn and adapt.
• Possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics (KSAOs) required performing the role effectively.
