UNICEF Malawi’s Country Programme seeks to ensure that all children and adolescents survive, grow, learn and are protected,with particular attention to the most vulnerable and those at risk of being left behind. Under the guidance of the Social PolicySpecialist, the Social Policy Officer will provide technical, operational and coordination support to strengthen the Governmentof Malawi’s planning, financing, budgeting, expenditure management and accountability for public resources, contributing toimproved outcomes for children and vulnerable populations. The role will support public financial management, budgetanalysis, social sector financing and decentralization, including transparency, accountability and oversight of public finances atnational and sub-national levels. The Officer will also generate and use evidence on social sector financing, child poverty, andchild-focused services to inform policy dialogue, programming, resource mobilization and donor reporting, while engaging withgovernment counterparts, development partners and contractors to advance country programme results.
