Volunteerism is a cross-cutting mechanism that helps strengthen community participation, local ownership, social cohesion, and the achievement of sustainable development outcomes. As the UN advances implementation of the 2030 Agenda and country-level programming frameworks, there is an opportunity to better position volunteerism as an enabler of development results. This assignment will contribute to generating evidence and recommendations that can support advocacy efforts and strengthen the integration of volunteerism across UN priorities and programmes in Lusophone countries.

Under the guidance of the Regional Office, the Online Volunteer will:

Conduct desk research on the development landscape in Equatorial Guinea.
Identify and map key stakeholders, including:
Government ministries and institutions;
UN agencies;
International financial institutions;
Bilateral and multilateral donors;
Development partners;
Civil society organizations and NGOs;
Universities and youth networks;
Private sector entities with corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Research ongoing programmes and initiatives where volunteers could contribute.
Identify potential entry points for volunteer mobilization and community engagement.
Analyze opportunities for partnerships related to youth engagement, health, education, gender equality, climate action, social cohesion, and community development.
Compile relevant information on donor priorities and funding areas related to civic engagement and volunteerism.
Develop recommendations on strategic partners with whom UNV could initiate discussions regarding volunteer mobilization and collaboration in 2027.
