Job Description
Advisory Services
Acts as technical expert for the Partnership Lead and aims to create an enabling environment (by sharing knowledge, understanding stakeholders and environment) for the implementation of the partnership, for the partnership to meet its objectives. Ensures, monitors progress and reviews quality of own expertise and ensures partners/client support and satisfaction during projects. Specifically, the Advisor is expected to:
- Participate in PURE technology assessments to identify the most appropriate solutions for adoption by smallholder farmers, vendors, and other value chain actors.
- Support the training and coaching of extension service providers on RA-PURE practices, technology adoption, and practical field application.
- Assist extension service providers to deliver inclusive, needs-based, and practical trainings to men, women, and young farmers.
- Support the testing, demonstration, and validation of profitable PURE technologies with smallholder farmers and agribusiness actors.
- Facilitate and provide support to technical field missions led by the partnership lead and other relevant partners.
- Support smallholder farmers, vendors, cooperatives, and local entrepreneurs to promote, adopt, and scale evidence-based RA-PURE technologies, services, and practices.
- Support the integration of PURE solutions into agribusiness models to improve productivity, efficiency, and income opportunities.
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of business cases that apply PURE technologies within selected value chains.
- • Contribute to the project’s learning agenda, knowledge development, and exchange of RA-PURE experiences and lessons across participating countries.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Farming Systems and Engineering, such as Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Engineering, Development Studies, etc
- Minimum of 4-5 years of experience of working in a similar sector.
- Knowledge of technical aspects of RA-PURE intervention and the linkage.
- Experience in farmer extension, SME advising, and agribusiness case development;
- Experience in partnership management and stakeholder engagement
- Experience in the application of the PURE technologies in the agriculture sector and financial analysis of PURE technologies will be a plus;
- Experience working with female entrepreneurs and gender integration approaches, as well as young-agri-entrepreneurs;
- Knowledge of RA - PURE innovations and farmer adoption.
- Excellent communication (written and oral), reporting and presentation skills;
- Willingness to travel to all partnership intervention locations
- Support the development of business models and financing mechanisms to scale RA adoption among smallholder farmers and agribusiness operators.
- Organize workshops, peer-learnings, and field demonstrations to support knowledge and evidence generation and disseminations.
- Document and disseminate best practices, lessons learned, and success stories to inform project activities and influence broader sector development.
