Responsibilities and Duties

  • Prepare the operating room, anesthesia equipment, and devices before the start of surgical procedures.
  • Check anesthesia machines, patient monitoring devices, and related equipment to ensure they are ready and functioning properly.
  • Prepare anesthesia instruments, supplies, and medications according to the anesthesiologist’s instructions.
  • Ensure the availability of oxygen, medical gases, and all necessary anesthesia supplies and materials.
  • Assist the anesthesiologist in preparing the patient prior to anesthesia according to instructions.
  • Assist the anesthesiologist during anesthesia and resuscitation procedures within the scope of practice and authorized responsibilities.
  • Prepare and monitor ventilators and other equipment used during anesthesia.
  • Assist in monitoring the patient during surgery and immediately report any observed changes or problems.
  • Prepare emergency and resuscitation equipment and medications and ensure they are ready for use.
  • Assist in emergency and resuscitation procedures in the operating room according to training and instructions.
  • Prepare airway management equipment and assist the anesthesiologist during airway-related procedures.
  • Clean, disinfect, and prepare anesthesia equipment and devices after surgery in accordance with infection prevention and control procedures.
  • Ensure that the operating room and anesthesia equipment are properly prepared for subsequent procedures.
  • Monitor the stock of anesthesia supplies and report any shortages or replenishment needs.
  • Handle medical instruments and equipment safely in accordance with infection prevention and control procedures.
  • Accurately document required information and procedures related to anesthesia and equipment according to the hospital’s documentation system.
  • Immediately report any malfunction or defect in anesthesia machines or medical equipment.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, nurses, and the operating room team.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics and hospital policies.
  • Adhere to occupational safety, patient safety, and infection prevention and control procedures.
  • Work according to shift schedules and remain effective under pressure and during emergency situations.
  • Perform any other related duties within the scope of practice as directed by the direct supervisor.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Recognized technical or health qualification in Anesthesia Technology.
  • Previous experience in anesthesia or operating rooms.
  • Good knowledge of anesthesia and patient monitoring equipment.
  • Good knowledge of airway management, ventilation, and resuscitation equipment and supplies.
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strict adherence to infection prevention and control and patient safety procedures.
  • Ability to work under pressure and according to shift schedules.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, and a strong sense of responsibility.
