The Health Specialist supports the planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of a sector of UNICEF’s health programme, providing technical guidance to achieve sustainable results for children and adolescents. In line with the 2026–29 Strategic Plan, the role supports the shift from direct implementation towards upstream advocacy and health systems strengthening by influencing policies, financing, planning, data, workforce capacity, service delivery, and accountability mechanisms. The Specialist will advance evidence-based policy engagement, strategic partnerships, stakeholder convening, and cross-sectoral collaboration to support government-led reforms, address system bottlenecks, and improve health outcomes at scale.
