Job Responsibilities:
The CMIM Specialist will contribute actively to the development, enhancement, and operational readiness of the CMIM and support the longer-term development of ASEAN+3 RFAs. Key responsibilities include:
Policy Development & Research
Review the CMIM arrangement and its related policies and guidelines to provide the CMIM members with policy analysis and recommendations to strengthen and enhance the operational readiness of the CMIM.
Conduct research on CMIM/RFA-related matters for further enhancement of regional financial stability, including the exploration of new facilities and financing structures to address new and emerging risks and their potential manifestation into crises through rigorous studies and learning from peer RFAs.
Follow up on macroeconomic situations of the CMIM members in accordance with CMIM objectives, drawing on assessments provided by AMRO's Surveillance Group.
Member Engagement & Capacity Building
Coordinate with member authorities and provide Technical Assistance (TA) on CMIM-related matters in collaboration with AMRO's TA team.
Institutional & Operational Support
Contribute to broader institutional and operational initiatives in support of AMRO's mandate.
Implement any other tasks as assigned by the Group Head, Deputy Director, and/or senior management of AMRO.
The candidate should possess:
A bachelor’s degree in economics, international finance, law, or other related fields, from a reputable university; a postgraduate degree would be an advantage.
Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in international and regional financial cooperation. Experience in international financial institutions (IFIs), other international organizations, or any international environment in related fields would be an advantage.
In-depth understanding of international financial architecture, the Global Financial Safety Net (GFSN), CMIM and RFA-related issues.
Proven ability to work effectively under pressure, manage competing priorities and tight deadlines, and adapt quickly to changing circumstances and unforeseen challenges.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently, take initiative, and exercise sound judgment.
A high degree of reliability, perseverance, and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and deliver high-quality work on time.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds and engage professionally with officials of CMIM member authorities at all levels.
High proficiency in written and spoken English.
