The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable Nigeria nationals for the position below at the Institute’s Headquarters in Ibadan.

Position:   Electronics Technician III

Contract:   3-year renewable contract                                   

Location: Ibadan

Closing Date: 7 September 2026

DUTIES: 

  • Perform housekeeping jobs to keep the workshop and tools in proper order.
  • Receive phone calls for seminar.
  • Prepare a log of work done.
  • Prepare solar panel installation.
  • Help repair oven.
  • Help in maintenance of basic laboratory equipment.
  • Set up sound system at Conference center and other locations.
  • Coordinate sound system during functions and seminars.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements

QUALIFICATION

Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Electronics, Trade Test 1-Electronics Works, or a related field, with at least two (2) years of relevant work experience.

 

COMPETENCIES

The ideal candidate must have:

  • Good practical knowledge of electronics and electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Practical knowledge of solar PV installation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Ability to assist in the maintenance and repair of basic laboratory and electronic equipment.
  • Good practical skills in setting up, operating, and troubleshooting sound/PA systems and audio-visual equipment.
  • Ability to use electronic test instruments, hand tools, and workshop equipment effectively and safely.
  • Good fault-finding, problem-solving, and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate work logs, maintenance records, and basic technical reports.
  • Good knowledge of workshop, electrical, electronics, and equipment safety practices.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to work independently, follow instructions and procedures, manage multiple tasks, and demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, discipline, and willingness to learn.
