Empowervan is looking for a passionate and dedicated Field Volunteer to join our team on the ground in Athens. Our mission is to prevent violence and empower displaced women through movement and self-defense. We operate by the refugee camps near Athens and in shelters.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Teaching Skills: Ability to teach sport, self-defense, or martial arts.
  • Gender Requirement: Female applicants only (due to the nature of our work).
  • Personal Attributes: Adaptable, well-organized, able to work independently, and at least 21 years old.
  • Experience: Prior experience working with displaced communities or minorities is preferred.
  • Availability:
    • Commitment of at least 16 hours per week.
    • Able to be on the ground in Athens for a minimum of 6 weeks.
  • People with a driver's license

Additional Skills (Preferred but Not Required):

  • Media management.
  • Grant writing.
  • Networking and community outreach.

Important Notes:

  • This is an unpaid volunteer position.
  • Applicants must be self-sufficient and able to cover their own expenses during the volunteering period.
