Here’s where you come in:

As Livelihood & Training Expert, you will design, deliver, and monitor agricultural, business, and vocational training to strengthen climate-resilient livelihoods and improve household income and food security.

Based in Mt Hagen Area Program Office, you will develop tailored curricula, facilitate practical skills training, support savings groups and enterprise development, and link participants to markets and financial services. You will assess needs, develop targeted curricula, and ensure participants gain practical, market-oriented skills for sustainable income generation. You will work with partners to deliver resources, strengthen savings groups, and link participants to markets and financial services.

You will develop and implement agricultural, business, and vocational training activities in alignment with project workplans and livelihood strengthening objectives. You will design context-appropriate training modules informed by needs assessments, covering climate-resilient agriculture, financial literacy, enterprise development, and market-oriented practices. You will coordinate scheduling, logistics, and preparation of training materials, tools, and resources, and facilitate high-quality, participatory training sessions for women beneficiaries, community groups, local trainers, and staff.

You will provide ongoing coaching and technical backstopping to reinforce the adoption of improved agricultural practices and business skills. You will support the establishment and capacity building of savings groups, cooperatives, and small agribusiness ventures.

You will collaborate with government partners, DAL staff, NGOs, private sector actors, and market intermediaries to strengthen value chain linkages and economic pathways for beneficiaries. You will coordinate delivery of livelihood inputs, start-up resources, and materials required for training implementation, and facilitate connections between participants and financial service providers to support savings, credit, and enterprise growth.

You will prepare high-quality technical narrative and financial reports for donors and internal management, document lessons learned, success stories, and best practices, and communicate project progress, challenges, and results effectively to diverse audiences. You will maintain strong, regular communication and collaboration with ADB, relevant national and provincial authorities, CSO partners, including GBV implementing partners, community leaders, and other relevant actors.

You will oversee project finances, budgeting, and procurement processes to ensure full compliance with ADB guidelines and ensure proper systems for resource management, due diligence, and audit readiness.

You will lead and support Christian activities that enrich and develop mutual growth in Christ. You will perform any other tasks assigned by the Program Operations Director, convey World Vision identity and core values in life, word, and deed in the workplace and outside of the workplace, and participate in World Vision PNG core staff activities, such as regular staff Christian reflection activities and regular programmatic Learning & Reflection days.

Requirements include:

• Bachelor’s degree in agriculture and livestock, natural resource management, Project Management, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.
• At least more than 5 years of professional experience in technical approaches for project management, livelihood programming, agriculture and market systems, financial literacy, entrepreneurship including experience leading a team or office of similar size and scope of accountability required.
• Direct experience in managing staff, donors and stakeholders, especially in the education sector
• At least more than 5 years’ work experience in managing projects in the field offices
• Technical or programming experience in livelihood programming, agriculture and market systems, financial literacy, entrepreneurship
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and deliver consistent quality programming and reporting in complex organisational and operational environments required.
• Proactive working style and proven ability to identify and mitigate risks, problem solve, and effectively manage conflict required.
• Strong planning, organisational, and project management skills required.
• Strong interpersonal skills required. Experience managing cross-cultural teams preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and email required.
• Direct experience of working with multicultural teams
• Proven ability to develop people in a cross-cultural setting
• Fluency in English and Tok Pisin required.
• Willingness to travel to very remote communities required.
