ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
This position is based in the Sierra Leone Country Office and reports to Senior Logistics Officer.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):
Commodity Accounting
1.Maintain accurate commodity accounting records in LESS and other WFP corporate systems.
2.Monitor inventory balances and ensure transactions are completed according to WFP procedures and established timelines.
3.Conduct regular reconciliation of physical stocks against system records and investigate discrepancies.
4.Support warehouse and field office staff in commodity accounting matters and system transactions.
5.Review warehouse reports and identify inconsistencies requiring corrective action.
6.Monitor stock movements from source to distribution point and ensure proper accountability.
7.Support quarterly, annual, and ad hoc physical inventory exercises.
8.Ensure waybill confirmations and transport transaction closures are completed accurately and on time.
9.Prepare commodity accounting reports for management, donors, and operational units.
-Perform any other related duties as assigned.
Funds Management
1.Assist in monitoring logistics operational budgets and expenditure trends.
2.Track utilization of logistics funds against approved budgets and donor allocations.
3.Support preparation of funding forecasts and expenditure projections.
4.Review invoices and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with financial procedures.
5.Assist with financial reconciliations related to logistics operations.
6.Support preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual funds management reports.
7.Maintain documentation required for audits and donor reporting.
8.Monitor commitments and expenditures to ensure efficient resource utilization.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area is desirable
Experience: 5 Years relevant work experience n logistics, warehouse management, commodity accounting, finance, accounting, supply chain, or related operational support roles.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience using corporate information systems such as LESS, SAP, COMET, WINGS, or equivalent Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
•Experience in inventory management and reconciliation processes.
•Experience preparing analytical and management reports.
•Experience supporting budgeting, expenditure monitoring, or funds management activities is desirable.
Language: Fluency (level C) in English language.
This position is opened only to Sierra Leonean nationals.
