The handling and shipping of pouches and envelopes are sent out to UNPA customers and UNPA offices in a timely manner. Successful performance of specific tasks and functions as outlined above. Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Mail Operations' Supervisor and overall guidance of the Officer-in-Charge, UNPA Europe, the contractor will prepare all outgoing mails by affixing correct postage and applying correct cancellation as per established postal rules and regulations, as well as provide special cancellations as per customers’ requests. Additionally, the contractor will maintain records and accurate recording of the number and weight of all mails received for dispatch and all outgoing mails deposited with the Austrian Post or UNOV Mailroom for dispatch. Keep and provide monthly records of the number of registered mails sent out. Provide other statistical information as required.
Qualifications/special skills
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Limited relevant work experience is required. Good knowledge of UNPA philatelic products is required. Good knowledge of postal rules and regulations is required. Good manual skills to handle stamps and other philatelic products is desirable. Professionalism, client-orientation and accountability is required. Flexibility in working days is required.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in English and German is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
