About the Role

  • Contract duration 18 months, up to June 2028

The Partnerships Platform is seeking a Strategic Education Adviser to support the Government of Tuvalu's Department of Education under the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development (MEHRD). This key advisory role will help strengthen strategic leadership, policy implementation, and education sector reform to deliver the goals of the Tuvalu Education Strategic Plan (TESP IV).

The Adviser will work closely with the Department of Education, government stakeholders, development partners, and the Australian High Commission to improve education planning, governance, and system performance. The role will provide strategic advice, support policy and legislative reforms, strengthen partner coordination, and build the capacity of education leaders to achieve a resilient, inclusive, and high-quality education system for all learners in Tuvalu.

About You

The role requires a highly experienced education professional with tertiary qualifications in Education Management or a related field, and demonstrated experience in a senior advisory, leadership, or technical role within the education sector. You will bring strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to provide strategic advice, drive policy implementation, and achieve outcomes in complex environments.

Experience working in Pacific Island countries or other resource-constrained settings, and familiarity with education sector reform and development partner coordination, will be highly regarded.
