Every year, millions of people around the world continue to face hunger and food insecurity. For many families and individuals, access to sufficient and nutritious food remains a daily challenge.

World Food Day, celebrated every year on 16 October, provides an important opportunity for communities to come together to raise awareness and take practical action against hunger.

The “Mate Swell” youth movement, hosted by the International Center for Training in Human Rights and Sustainable Development (C.I.F.D.H/D.D), has decided to join this global initiative by organizing a food collection and meal distribution campaign.

The initiative will mobilize young people and communities to collect food donations before World Food Day. These donations will then be used to prepare and distribute meals to people in vulnerable situations on 16 October 2026.

The campaign is based on the principle that collective action can transform small individual contributions into meaningful community support. A single donation may seem limited, but when many people contribute, the result can help provide meals to a significant number of people.

Through this initiative, Mate Swell seeks to promote solidarity, community engagement and practical action in support of food security.

The volunteers will support the preparation, promotion, collection of food donations, coordination of partners, organization of the event and documentation of the activities.

Beyond the immediate distribution of meals, the initiative aims to encourage a lasting culture of solidarity, responsible food donation and youth participation in humanitarian action.

We are seeking 50 volunteers with strong interest or experience in community organizing, youth mobilization, food security, nutrition, humanitarian action, communication and event management to support the preparation and implementation of World Food Day – « Mate Swell » on 16 October 2026.
