Position:                                  Agri-TVET Consortium Coordinator 

Reports to:                               Agri-TVET Consortium Manager 

Duty station:                            Juba, South Sudan 

Travel %                                   50 % travel to project sites

1. Role and responsibilities 

The purpose of the Consortium Coordinator is to support the EU Agri-TVET Consortium manager. This support will focus on project management, as well as strengthening the synergies, collaboration and engagement between NRC and the other Consortium partners. Furthermore, the Coordinator will strengthen the relationships and coordination between the Consortium and external partners, Clusters/WGs and other relevant stakeholders. 

 

The following is a brief description of the role. 

 

Generic responsibilities 

 

  1. Adherence to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines 
  2. Implement delegated EU Agri-TVET Consortium portfolio according to the plan of action 
  3. Conduct quality control and provide technical support to implementing partners and/or contactors 
  4. Contribute to the coordination of implementation of the Consortium work plan (activities, budget and project documentation) in line with proposals, strategies and donor requirements 
  5. Provide specific technical support and capacity building towards EU Agri-TVET Consortium partners and staff 
  6. Assess, promote and document ideas for technical improvement and further program development options 
  7. Prepare and develop status reports as required by management 
  8. Coordinate between all parties under the Consortium 
  9. Ensure proper filing of documents 

 

Specific responsibilities 

 

  • Support the development and implementation of Consortium Strategy in line with evolving needs, operational context and technical practices 

  • Promote adherence to the common rationale and harmonized tools and guidelines 

  • Contribute to the coordination and operational issues amongst EU Agri-TVET partners. 
  • Support constructive and structured communication, engagement and coordination between various stakeholders 

  • Contribute to the development of new programme proposals and drafting of reports 
  • Represent the Consortium in coordination forums; and attend internal and external meetings, when requested by the Head of EU Agri-TVET Consortium  

  • Ensure compliance with donor guidelines/rules/regulations and contractual obligations 
  • Deputize for the Head of Agri-TVET Consortium in his/her absence

By interfaces, NRC means processes and projects that are interlinked with other departments/units or persons. Relevant interfaces for this position are: 

 

  • Consortium Management Unit

  • Head of Programmes 
  • Support functions

2. Competencies 

Competencies are important for the employee and the organization to deliver desired results. They are relevant for all staff and are divided into the following two categories: 

 

1. Professional competencies 

These are skills, knowledge and experience that are important for effective performance. 

 

Generic professional competencies: 

  • Relevant university degree or higher education preferable in social studies 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in programmatic implementation in a humanitarian/recovery context in South Sudan 

  • Experience working in complex and volatile contexts 
  • Experience working with refugees, IDPs or returnees 
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal 

 

Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience: 

  • Technical experience in multisectoral response 
  • Technical experience in Education Programming including TVET 
  • Technical experience in Cash and Market-Based Interventions 
  • Experience in emergency response, including preparedness and response 
  • Experience in capacity building 
  • Strong safe programming/protection mainstreaming background 
  • Knowledge of EU reporting requirements is a plus
