The WFF's Global Youth Action Initiative (Youth Initiative), hosted within the Office of Youth and Women (OYW) of FAO is a dynamic platform empowering youth to transform agrifood systems for a better food future. Through its thematic programmes it provides youth with the tools, knowledge, and networks needed to design and scale sustainable solutions.

The WFF Young Women’s Empowerment (YWE) Programme actively advances and supports the International Year of the Woman Farmer 2026 by placing young women at the center of agrifood systems transformation and of this global advocacy moment. Through advocacy, storytelling, and collaboration with youth networks, the programme works to amplify the voices, experiences, and leadership of women farmers across diverse contexts.

It emphasizes the importance of inclusive and participatory approaches, ensuring that a plurality of perspectives is represented, while strengthening outreach to engage wider and more diverse audiences. By doing so, the YWE Programme contributes to building more equitable, resilient, and inclusive of agrifood systems.
