The Women's Empowerment Principle's are the primary global framework to advance private sector action for gender equality. Today, over 13'000 companies across more than 160 countries have signed the WEPs CEO Statement of Support, demonstrating their commitment to gender-responsive and inclusive business practices. The Women's Empowerment Principles aims to support companies in taking action, thus contributing to more inclusive workplaces, marketplaces and communities.

The WEPs also serve as a global advocacy platform, highlighting promising practices, amplifying business leadership, and advancing public dialogue on gender equality and women's economic empowerment.

The WEPs Secretariat is seeking 3 highly motivated and creative Online Volunteers to support global communications, advocacy and community engagement activities. Tasks will be divided with the volunteers, based on their preference and experience.

The volunteers will join a small, dynamic and remote team at UN Women Headquarters. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in supporting the communications for a global UN Women initiative, and contribute to global advocacy for private sector engagement and gender equality.

The volunteers will help amplify gender equality stories and solutions from businesses worldwide through WEPs channels (LinkedIn, Website, Newsletter) that encourage companies to translate commitments into measurable action.

The Online Volunteers will:
1. Design and manage communication assets, posting two social media posts per week
• Design LinkedIn cards and visual communication materials, draft content integrating WEPs Branding Guidelines.
• Schedule LinkedIn posts highlighting WEPs resources, events, impact stories, partner initiatives and international observances.
• Monitor engagement with your posts and identify opportunities to increase visibility and audience interaction across WEPs platforms.

2. Storytelling and Content Development of one blog, case study or impact story per week
• Research, draft and edit written content in coordination with WEPs focal points and signatory companies.
• Support the collection and synthesis of examples demonstrating progress on gender equality and women's empowerment.

3. Newsletter Support
• Assist with the preparation and dissemination of the quarterly WEPs Global Newsletter.
• Support content collection, editing and formatting for newsletter editions during the assignment period.

The Online Volunteers will be provided with material and other sources to develop the communication materials as required and available. For close coordination and discussion, the Online Volunteer is expected to be available for calls via Skype/Zoom/Microsoft Teams. Where possible, the volunteers will have the opportunity to connect with and collaborate with colleagues across UN Women headquarters, regional offices and country offices.
