Are you interested in making a career in the migration field? Open Cultural Center (OCC) is a non-profit organisation (NGO) based in Spain and Greece that works towards the inclusion of refugees, migrants, and asylum seekers by offering activities to both host-country nationals and third-country nationals.

We are offering a long-term volunteering position within OCC Spain, focused on supporting the Communication team. As a communication assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our communication efforts across various channels. This position is for 12 months.

Main tasks

  • Create and post content on social media platforms and automation tools daily while interacting with the OCC community online;
  • Produce and edit visual materials through Canva or Photoshop (flyers, reels, stories, etc.);
  • Support on evaluating marketing campaigns KPIs (emails, posts, ads)
  • Support creating landing pages, designing flyers, sending newsletters and emails, etc;
  • Support and attend events to take pictures and videos of our activities;
  • Support the implementation of the marketing and communication strategy;
  • Take part in the ESC activities (organisation of team building activities, awareness raising in schools, etc.);
  • Support the rest of the team and participate actively in the organisation’s activities;
  • Support the team with creating awareness-raising content, e.g., writing articles for blogs;

Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Experience or strong interest in marketing&communications departments
  • Knowledge on social media platforms management, (e.g., Linkedin, Instagram, etc.) and automation tools (e.g Active Campaign, Marketing Cloud, etc);
  • Experience or interest in photography, video-editing, graphic design, and related software (Canva, Capcut, etc.) will be considered a plus;
  • Knowledge of WordPress is a plus;
  • B2 proficiency in English & Spanish;
  • Strong interest in working in the non-profit/social sector and basic knowledge of the migration context of Europe;
  • Easy-going and loving an intercultural environment;
  • A motivated, proactive, open-minded, tolerant, creative, and self-reliant person;

Eligibility
To participate in the ESC Volunteering program you are required to meet the
following criteria:

  • Being between 18 -30 years old
  • Being an EU resident or a resident in one of the mentioned partner countries
    (Neighbouring the EU)
  • Being available for 12 months
  • No Prior ESC Participation

What do we offer?
Our volunteering program is funded by the European Commission through the
European Solidarity Corps program. This means that volunteering provides:

  • Travel costs coverage: Up to the limits established in the Erasmus+ Guide
    distance calculator from the volunteer’s region of residency to our center
  • Free Accommodation (shared room): Provided in center of Barcelona. The flat is fully
    equipped (kitchen, bathrooms, washing machine, wifi, etc
  • Monthly allowance: 330 euros per month
