The Morocco Country office (MCO) works with national partners to promote the leadership and political participation of women and contributes to the translation of constitutional provisions into laws, strategies and policies that advance gender equality and women’s empowerment. The Morocco office also supports the development and implementation of gender-sensitive strategies and public policies, while fostering the production and dissemination of accurate sex-disaggregated and gender-based data to strengthen the monitoring and evaluation of progress on gender equality, women's empowerment and the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals.

This UNV assignment is part of UN Women’s project “Resilience & Food Security: Integrated Solutions for Rural Women in Tata Facing the Impact of Locust and Water Crises”. The project aims to promote inclusive resilience through gender-sensitive and disaster risk reduction initiatives. It will actively engage women in the adoption of water-saving techniques and the reuse of domestic wastewater, fostering community ownership, long-term sustainability, and enhanced social impact. The project will also provide women with concrete opportunities for inclusion by introducing accessible and smart technologies, such as a drone for detection and locust invasion.

The project will also strengthen women’s capacities in wildfire prevention within palm groves. This integrated approach not only reduces the marginalization of women in agricultural disaster response efforts but also recognizes and reinforces their roles within value chains linked to sustainable ecosystem management.

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Operations Manager, the UNV Project & Finance Assistant will:

• Support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of project activities;
• Provide administrative support in the preparation of project work plans, budgets, and proposals;
• Support the financial management of projects through budget monitoring, expenditure tracking, analysis of budget utilization, and preparation of financial reports;
• Create projects in Quantum system; prepare budget revisions; revise project awards; and support the identification of unutilized funds and the operational and financial closure of the project;
• Create invoices and requisitions in the Quantum system for development projects;
• Register good receipts in the Quantum system.
• Undertake all logistical, administrative and financial arrangements for the organization of meetings, consultations, and any other national or regional events;
• Perform other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.

Furthermore, UN Volunteers are encouraged to integrate the UN Volunteers programme mandate within their assignment and promote voluntary action through engagement with communities in the course of their work. As such, UN Volunteers should dedicate a part of their working time to some of the following suggested activities:
• Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteerism by reading relevant UNV and external publications and take active part in UNV activities (for instance in events that mark International Volunteer Day);
• Be acquainted with and build on traditional and/or local forms of volunteerism in the host country;
• Provide annual and end of assignment self-reports on UN Volunteer actions, results and opportunities.
• Contribute articles/write-ups on field experiences and submit them for UNV publications/websites, newsletters, press releases, etc.;
• Assist with the UNV Buddy Programme for newly-arrived UN Volunteers;
• Promote or advise local groups in the use of online volunteering or encourage relevant local individuals and organizations to use the UNV Online Volunteering service whenever technically possible.

Results/expected outputs:
• As an active UN Women Morocco Country Office team member, efficient, timely, responsive, client-friendly and high-quality support rendered to the Morocco CO and its beneficiaries in the accomplishment of her/his functions, including:
o Implementation, monitoring, and reporting of project activities are effectively supported, including contributions to quarterly internal and donor reports.
