The Youth Empowerment Initiative in Indonesia focuses on investing in and empowering young people to accelerate progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through the Youth Ultra Micro Entrepreneurship Empowerment (YUMEE) project, UNDP Indonesia aims to empower 400 young women-owned ultra-micro enterprises (UMEs) and 100 university students (aged 18–30) in rural areas by enhancing their access to financial services, business skills, and digital tools.
To maximize community-level impact, the YUMEE project collaborates with BTPN Syariah's BESTEE Programme, where the university youth will be intensively prepared to serve as dedicated business companions to the participating ultra-micro enterprises. By equipping these micro-entrepreneurs and young mentors with critical resources and knowledge, this collaborative initiative drives inclusive local economic development and advances sustainable capabilities for resilient livelihoods.
Under the Youth Ultra Micro Entrepreneurs Empowerment (YUMEE) Project, we seek program support from 120 Online Volunteers (OVs) to assist the UNDP Youth Empowerment team in learning digital and entrepreneurial skills and documenting learning materials.
These 120 Online Volunteers, who under the guidance of the Youth Empowerment team will:
- Support the monitoring and evaluation of a minimum of one (1) Training of Trainers (ToT) session per week by attending sessions, documenting feedback, and capturing key learning insights to ensure workshop objectives are effectively achieved.
- Support the virtual dissemination of key learning points and recommendations to ultra-micro entrepreneurs across Central Kalimantan, West Sulawesi, and East Nusa Tenggara to continuously strengthen the YUMEE Project and enhance youth-led impact.
- Individually develop a presentation on the assigned topic and learnings to present to an audience of 2–5 people of their choosing.
Opportunities may also be available for exceptional Online Volunteers to continue as onsite to support this project.
The selected Online Volunteers will be provided with background information and material needed to support and implement the program. They will not be asked to participate or conduct/implement the teaching/training and will not be requested to develop content themselves without the guidance of the Youth Empowerment team.
